Comparing the five states for NRI admissions
Kerala is the most Gulf-connected and has the highest concentration of established Gulf-return alumni networks — strong for Gulf-career-oriented students. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of private MBBS college seats and strong engineering institutions. Karnataka (Bengaluru) has the strongest technology sector campus recruitment. Key entrance exams by stream and state
NEET (medical — applicable across all states). KEAM (Kerala engineering and pharmacy). TNEA / self-reporting (Tamil Nadu engineering). Karnataka COMEDK and UGCET (Karnataka engineering). AP EAMCET and TS EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana engineering). Management programs (BBA/MBA): most do not require a separate entrance exam for NRI quota — 12th marks and NRI documentation are sufficient.
